If you've never tried using a Tomato Timer (also known as the Pomodoro Technique) to push past writers' block, I encourage you to give it a try!
The Tomato Timer method is simple: you set a timer for 25 minutes and complete a task during that time. When the timer goes off, you get a 5-minute break. Rinse and repeat.
I have found setting a 25-minute timer very effective for times when I feel tired, intimidated, or uninspired sitting down to write. I tell myself I only have to write until the timer beeps, and instead of worrying about how many words I've written, I focus on continually typing. When the timer goes off, I've made progress.
Google has a very simple online Tomato Timer that you can use on your computer! Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.
